Facilities and Gallery

Welcome

The large master bedroom has double windows facing east and north for lovely light and warmth. Television, electric blankets, electric heater and air-filtering fan are included.

The new ensuite draws on the styles of yesteryear, with pressed tin paneling sourced locally, a lovely deep bath and a quality shower. Heated towel rails ensure your towels are warm and dry even in the coldest weather.

The second bedroom makes sure there is room for the whole family, with a set of single bunk beds, a single bed and a single trundle available on request.

The third bedroom has lovely original features and an electric fireplace to keep you cosy. The bed has electric seating functions to help you sit comfortably in bed. This room is next to the master bathroom. The bathroom and bedroom can be closed off to create a second ‘ensuite’ if required.

The quirky main bathroom has a large level access double shower, a beautifully recycled vanity. The new tiles were carefully selected to match the restored timber paneled walls in the toilet section from the c1950s original bathroom. A shower chair is available on request.

The lounge is a small and cosy room. Large television connected to wifi for your convenience, with a range of DVDs provided also. The rack by the fire will be stocked ready for your wood fire. The thick, hand made walls in this room ensure that it stays warm. They also are good and reducing sound travelling around the house!

Our dining room is ready for you and yours, with a generous restored table that seats 8. This room opens on to the large kitchen and looks out to the garden and view to the south. A high chair is available on request.

Once again, a blend of old and new makes this a space that you want to spend time in. With a well stocked kitchen, large induction cooktop and double oven, if you enjoy cooking when away, this kitchen is a delight. Basic cooking staples like oil, vinegar, spices are provided.

A selection of ethical teas (organic/fair trade) and ethical, quality coffee pods are provided.

The deck provides a bbq, large dining table, and bar stools to sit at the rail. The deck rails are built from some timber rescued from the house renovations.

The garden is generous and has a different beauty in every season. Watch the morning mists rise from the hills in the distance, the late summer sun create dappled greens, or the wonderful natural monochromes of the snow and frost season. Set on a 1000m2 block, the garden provides a good play space. A fire pit is provided in the yard.

We call this space the lookout. Originally a shed for an early smash repairer (we believe), we have scrubbed and refurbished this space to make an indoor/outdoor hangout. NB: While we are waiting for our wood heater to be installed, we would ask that you use the garden fire pit and not the unflued heater.

There are plenty of spaces to enjoy being together, or to find space apart when staying at Kookaburra’s Joy. This additional games space is complete with a chest full of games.

The office space has easy access power points and wifi connectivity. The thick walls mean you can work undistracted while other family members are enjoying a break.

The front verandah is a lovely north-facing space with reading chair and small table perfect for tea or a game.
